About Us
 Since 1983 we have provided professional, family eye and vision care services in Howard County, Maryland. Dr. Ronald Berger envisioned a family friendly optometric office where patients would receive high-quality eye care in a comfortable office environment. Dr. Dana Taylor joined the practice in 1987 and Dr. Jennifer Kungle in 2000. All three are board certified in developmental vision therapy by the College of Optometrists in Vision Development. Our dedicated and professional staff of receptionists, lab technicians, vision therapists, and doctors provide the highest level of patient eye care in a warm and caring office environment. Whether a receptionist is outlining your insurance options, a technician is fitting you with the right frames, or one of the doctors is discussing your vision treatment, your comfort and vision needs are our top priority. About Our Doctors |

 Dr. Ronald Berger received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. He has been practicing since 1975 and continues to find the field inspiring and gratifying. He particularly enjoys working with his patients and getting to know them and their families. Dr. Berger's specialties are in Vision Development, Cognitive Development, Sports Vision Learning, and Children's Vision. He is a member of and has held positions with many optometric organizations, including:
- International Examination & Certification Board of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development
- American Optometric Association - Sports Council
- College of Optometrists in Vision Development
- Greater Baltimore Optometric Society - Past President
- Optometric Extension Program
- Maryland Optometric Association - Past President-Elect and Past Secretary
Dr. Berger is a Sports Vision Consultant to the Washington Redskins, Kansas City Chiefs, and Houston Texans. In addition, he has worked with the San Diego Chargers, Philadelphia Eagles, Los Angeles Rams, and Washington Capitals. Since 1978 he has been a school consultant to schools in Montgomery County and Baltimore City. He has published numerous articles and lectured nationally and internationally for twenty years.

 Dr. Dana Taylor received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and began practicing in 1986. She soon joined Dr. Berger in 1987. Dr. Taylor brings over twenty years of expertise and experience to the practice. Her specialties include Vision Therapy, Vision Development, and Family Vision Care. Dr. Taylor's favorite part of her work is the time she spends with her patients. She continues to develop close relationships with her patients and their families. Dr. Taylor is a member or fellow of several optometric organizations, including:
- Maryland Optometric Association
- American Optometric Association
- Developmental Delay Resources
- College of Optometrists in Vision Development
She has served as a state director for Vision USA (a charitable optometric program), and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD), as well as, a member of the COVD peer mentor committee. Together with Dr. Berger she worked on a Baltimore City school pilot study evaluating the efficacy of vision therapy in reading and math performance. Further involvement of her time and skills to the community includes: examining Special Olympic athletes and giving presentations on vision development, career development, and other related topics.

 Dr. Jennifer J. Kungle, a native of Wakaw, Saskatchewan Canada, joined the practice in 2000. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. She previously completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology at the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon Canada. Dr. Kungle is a Fellow of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD) and is board certified in vision development and vision therapy. Dr. Kungle is a member of several optometric organizations, including:
- Maryland Optometric Association
- American Optometric Association
- Optometric Extension Program
- Brain Injury Association of Maryland
- Developmental Delay Resources
She is a volunteer of the Maryland Special Olympics, Opening Eyes Program and a participating doctor in the national AOA InfantSEE™ program. Dr. Kungle is also involved in Volunteer Optometic Services to Humanity (VOSH International) and has traveled to Cusco, Peru to provide free vision care.

Several of our staff members have been with the practice over 10 years. At Berger & Taylor, we are committed to continuing staff education and keeping abreast of technical advances in our field. We accept VISA, Mastercard, check, and cash for payment of services. We participate in the Vision Service Plan (VSP) and Medicare insurances. For any out-of-network insurance providers we are happy to supply you with documentation of our services required for those plans.
